As a Human Factors Engineer Intern you will play a key role in the development of the next generation of softwares as a medical device that can diagnose critical diseases.
You will support other Human Factors Engineers and Designers to plan, execute and document studies aimed to provide insights for product experience improvement as well as to provide objective evidence that the design outputs of a certain development phase are meeting all requirements.
Responsibilities:
Be the voice of patients and Roche users in every product related discussion
Advocate for accessibility, quality and usability for end-users at Roche Diagnostics
Identify user profiles, tasks, hazard-related use scenarios, usability risks and requirements
Responsible for creating medical device usability deliverables according to IEC 62366 and ISO 14971
Attend workshops with the product and design teams to gather system-level information and to coordinate the design deliverables
Support the assessment of ergonomics and accessibility in medical devices
Plan formative and summative usability studies and work together with external suppliers in the process
Prepare, maintain and review Usability Engineering Files
You are currently enrolled in a Master's program in Science, Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other related technical field or you have finished your Master's not longer than 12 months ago
You have knowledge of the IEC 62366 standard and the latest FDA guidance on applying Human Factors Engineering
Experience in the Usability Engineering process for medical devices made of both hardware and software is a big plus
You have excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate know-how, experiences, ideas, solutions and deliverables effectively and persuasively
Experience in creating, facilitating and analyzing workshops with customers and stakeholders is a big plus
Good knowledge of the ISO 14971 and IEC 62304 are a plus
You are fluent in English. Other languages are always a big plus.
Due to regulations, non-EU/EFTA students: You have to provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory and upload it together with your application documents. Furthermore, you have to be enrolled during the entire internship period.
