Coordinator - Food Services [Canada]


 

This posting is for a full time permanent position working 75 hours bi-weekly.

We are looking for a Coordinator, Food Services who can lead, plan, direct and evaluate the delivery and operation of food services within our Continuing Care facility here in Dawson. You will take an active role in the day to day activities within all areas of the building, including coordinating and supervising staff, coordinating all aspects of food management, and ensuring the provision and maintenance of a clean, safe environment to support the well-being of Residents, staff, volunteers and the general public.

Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications. Please note selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Post secondary education in Food and Nutrition Management
  • Membership with the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or equivalent
  • Experience supervising staff
  • Experience working in a Health Care environment asset
  • Knowledge of food texture and fluid consistency standards asset

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience considered to be equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability
Candidates should have and may be assessed on:

  • Demonstrated ability to use Canada's Food Guide to develop nutritious, high quality meal plans to support the health and well being of residents
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to provide leadership, supervision and teaching/coaching to a team working within a trans-disciplinary environment
  • Commitment to achieving a standard of excellence in following established workplace health & safety guidelines
  • Demonstrated initiative in recommending change and evaluating program objectives
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures and guidelines

Additional Information

Conditions of Employment: Food Safe 1 and 2 Certification, Vulnerable Sector RCMP Security clearance, WHMIS 2015, recent TB Screening

Job Requirements: Some heavy lifting up to 50 pounds. Exposure to heat, sharp knives, second hand smoke, animals in the Pet Therapy Program and latex products.
